The Field Hockey team shows determination as they work hard in every practice. They spent an entire summer of hard work to get ready for the 25-26 season. These girls are disciplined and show that they care about what they do. The Bearcats field hockey team is one of the best in their division. One of the team's goals this season is to go to CIF. Coach Daniel says, “Winners never quit and quitters never win."
Melony Hoffman is one of two Sophomores on Bonita Varsity. The work she puts in helps both herself and the team get better everyday. The biggest moment that helped them this year was beating Thousand Oaks 6-0 to help them get their first win in league. Also beating Chaminde 5-0 on the road to keep them to 2-0 in league with a tie to Glendora 2-2. Now in the league they are 2-0-1.
The team as a whole has improved very well. The team’s captains are Bella Arroyo and Kiana Crawford and they serve as team leaders and role models on and off the field. The team started playing better once they started making larger passes, and gaining yards. The team has great chemistry and has welcomed two new players on the team, Ava Martinez and Francesca Magnino. Both players are forwards and make great contributions as new additions to the team.
With the team averaging 2 goals per game this season is looking quite promising. The Bearcats are set to face Edison on Thursday, September 25th, the chances of winning are high because this team works together and they train not just harder, but smarter. Bonita Field hockey knows that success isn’t just about individual brilliance, but about how well they lift each other up.
